A malicious software is a program that could potentially harm your computer by installing it.
They can operate through different process, such as corrupting files, infecting other programs installed on your machine, or possibly interact with other programs to hijack their working process.
They can be used to propagate viruses, worms, and other trash things !
Some websites can distribute this kind of software, that's why you may be careful before visiting a website with a low reputation.

Phishing attacks : don't be scammed !
In few words, phishing is a way to get some personal information about you, your email, some logins and passwors, or more embarrassing information like your credit number.
Usually, the attack come from a fake web page (that could be sent by email) which looks like exactly (or almost) the same to the original website.
If the visitor is not careful about the URL in his web browser, or the fake links in the scammed email, and give his personal information, that's it... The remote hacker will then save these data and could re-use it for his own profit.
